LG Ku990 Viewty Silver Review

With the KU990 Viewty, LG arguably came up with a top-notch quality cameraphone that, unlike its competitors, managed to offer something completely unique. In this case it was the ability to record video at 120 frames per second and play it back in slow-motion that caught most people’s attention.

A minor complaint to take note of was in the slightly dull black styling which didn’t make it one of the most attractive mobile phones on the market by any stretch of the imagination.

Now LG are following the lead taken by the Samsung G600 and releasing a silver version of one of their flagship mobile phones.

On first impressions, the Silver KU990 Viewty is a much more attractive proposition when compared to the original black version. It also seems as if the back-lighting of the menus have been adapted to complement the silver outline that appears around the display.

The effect it has is of making the Viewty look like a more cool and stylish gadget when compared to the slightly geeky technological vibe that the black version seemed to emit, but that’s just my opinion. I’m sure many others may feel the opposite, but personally I prefer the silver over the black.

As you would expect, you still have the same array of features you get in the Black KU990 Viewty, such as the 3†touchscreen; 5 Megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach optics, as well as autofocus and flash; microSD support up to 2GB & HSDPA functionality.

All in all the LG KU990 Viewty Silver is much more radical than it first appears. The new colour scheme does transform this mobile phones image from one associated with the geeky, to one of cool & sophistication. So saying, it is all obviously down to personal preference and if the Viewty appeals to you, then I would recommend you check out both colours before making a decision.
